    SPEEDING THE HOUSING DRIVE. 30.9.1946. As part of the Government's plan to speed the drive to build more houses throughout the country, the Ministry of Health recently announced details of ten new types of houses that are to be produced in large numbers. Most of them are of concrete, using pre-cast methods for floors, walls and roofs, etc. whilst one type uses resinbonded plywood glued to tin timber studding. This picture shows a stage in the erection of one of these types - THE ORLIT, now being erected at a site in Greenwich. The Orlit is made with pre-cast concrete structure with precast floor and roof beams. Housing - Post war
