Oro (Laura) Semo Rosen, the donor, arrived in Brazil in 1958 and in São Paulo, she was a Hebrew teacher at Colégio IL Peretz. The Rosen family lived in the city Russe, which is next to the river Danube and at the time had 3,000 Jews. Jewish life was intense with choir, theater, sports and the Macabi sports club.
