A broken pot is generally used as a framework to make a dalri. The paper is soaked in water for a couple of days and ground in ukhal-musal (mortar and pestle) to make a consistent paste which is then applied onto the pot and left to dry. This dalri was unique in shape. It was elongated from the bottom, depending on the shape and size of the original pot on which it was made.
