Located in Cağaloğlu, on Cemâl Nadir Street, which is formerly known as “Acımusluk Sokağı”, this hadith school was commissioned after 1717 by the famed grand vizier Nevşehirli Damad İbrahim Pasha (d. 1730) of the Ahmed III reign (1703-1730). Also referred to as the “Acımusluk Madrasa”, a large portion of the structure was destroyed in the Bâbıâli fires as well as the 1894 earthquake, and the remaining units were converted into a printing house, only to remain obscure amidst the multi-storeyed office blocks. Having lost most of the original character of its architectural style in the aftermath of a series of renovations, the structure appears to have been comprised of 12 cells and a classroom set in a u-shape around a rectangular courtyard.
