Damayanti Abandoned In The Forest

One of his most poignant works in the Damayanti series, Ravi Varma captures the despair and longing in his subject, torn at being separated from her husband. Damayanti is shown sans any jewellery in relation to the forest scene and the simplicity of her attire, with almost unseen snake lurking in the background makes it spectacular. It is in the Sri Bhavani Museum, Aundh.
