Most of the history of flamenco in Granada takes place in the capital. The Albaicín and Sacromonte neighbourhoods became the epicentre of flamenco and witnessed the creation of the soleá de Graná or Niño Jun, or the tangos del Camino and del Cerro. It was in this atmosphere that Antonio Chacón created his cantes por granaínas and medias. This is why you have to go to the caves of Sacromonte to see what goes on there. But you should also stop off in the Albaicín, go down to the oldest peña in the city, the Platería, and listen to the recitals that are regularly held there.
You are all set!
