Although it only appears in the last ten years of his life (except for the antecedent of Little Dancer, 1915, also called Ciclonet, which must have been the cabaret dancer nicknamed Cigronet), the theme of dancers is fundamental in Gargallo's production, especially because they bring together and represent in a very significant way some of his main achievements in sculpture made with sheet metal.
The dancers were also the subject of a good number of drawings, some resolved, as in this case, with extraordinary simplicity not exempt from subtleties and graphic wisdom, which give the figure a difficult balance between the clear definition of the volume and the ethereal dynamism of the winged and unstable.
