Dancing stick

A Zulu dancing stick from Weenen, KwaZulu-Natal made from the root of a tree and decorated with clan colours.. Sticks carried by an ordinary homestead head were distinguised fromt hose carried by chiefs. Sticks are also used in fighting stick competitions, while dance sticks continue to fearue prominently on festive occasions such as weddings.
