Dang-ui is a semi-ceremonial jacket longer in length with side slits. This piece was worn in the royal court. It is made of tabby silk with large flower motif, and lined with fulled, dark red tabby silk. There are Chinese characters for life and luck decorated in gold leaf all over the bodice. The collar is narrow, swifted shaped and the sleeves and the sidelines are moderately curved.
