“Pride is a connection to our roots in modern queer liberation. The first Pride took place under the threat and reality of police brutality, persecution and violence from the public, and with so many aspects of living outwardly queer still outlawed. Those early demonstrators personified what is best about being queer - boldness, flamboyance, tenacity and joy. This year I will be with original members of the Gay Liberation Front and their friends across generations, coming together in a small way to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the GLF here in London.” - Dani
