The intoxicating scent of this winter spectacle will lure you into the Winter Garden.
The genus Daphne numbers approximately 50 species of evergreen and deciduous shrubs from Europe, North Africa and temperate Asia. Most have alternate leaves and all have tubular, reflexed, scented flowers which are carried in clusters. Raised at Hillier’s by their propagator Alan Postill, Daphne bholua ‘Jacqueline Postill’ is a choice selection, providing winter flower and scent. It is a relatively upright shrub, which can be deciduous or evergreen, and which reaches 4 m in height. The white flowers are tinged with deep pink, and are produced in terminal clusters.
