Darren Palmer gained his bronze medallion in February 1985 and has been active in the surf club since then.

Education: Trainer and Assessor for SRC, Bronze MedallIon, ARC, IRB Crew and Driver, Assistant Chief Instructor, Chief Instructor
Lifesaving: 34 years patrol service involving being a patrol captain, IRB crewman and driver. Performed approximately 300 rescues and was involved in a mass rescue in big, dangerous surf in 2005. National Medal recipient in 2006. National Medal clasp recipient in 2017.
