Back in the Triassic, dinosaurs had not yet become the undisputed rulers that we know. Someone else was king, different groups of archosaur reptiles, whose variety is well documented as fossil tracks. Among them those of Isochirotherium inferni, exceptionally preserved as they were imprinted on malleable soil, were found just south of Bolzano. They show signs of five robust fingers that were elongated and equipped with powerful claws.
