(A) Dress of changeable purple and pink silk taffeta; wide scoop neckline bordered by two rows of gathering and piping; short sleeves with double ruffle at each opening; "fan front" bodice with vertical pleats just below gathering at neckline; pleats narrow as they descend to below-waist in deep point; bottom pleats are tacked down with three "V" shapes in double piping; full floor-length skirt is cartridge pleated; slit pocket at proper right hip; five self-ruffles begin just above mid-point of skirt and become wider as they descend to hem; center hook-and-eye closure; cotton lining in boned bodice; silk lining in sleeves; glazed cotton at hem.

Headdress: Brown ribbon headdress with black dagged lace and simulated ringlets; peaked headband with wire supports at top and bottom; brown silk ribbon arranged in four concentric upside-down "V"s; black linen netting with dagged border applied below each layer of ribbon; sides of headband embellished with large cluster of ribbon loops with dangling "ringlets" of ribbon in imitation of contemporary hair style; lined in black netting.
