A choreography on the music of Duke Ellington and Peggy Glanville-Hicks. Three young men live in the house of a shrew of a landlady. In each of their dreams, however, the landlady becomes rather nice: a sweet and cheerful mate, a lover, and a partner to dance to jazz music with – music the landlady abhors. In the final part of the ballet, the boundary of dream and reality is disrupted as the youngest man still holds the balloons of his “dreams” in his hands.
