Dean Kramer, 1975 - 1st in the US, 5th in Warsaw

The top winners from the US Chopin Piano Competition are automatically accepted to compete in Warsaw. The rules and requirements of the US Competition follow those of the International Competition in every detail. It was a thrill for the supporters of the newly minted American Competition to see Dean Kramer (pictured here with other top finalists in Warsaw) do so well at the International Competition. Assisting young American pianists develop their careers as international concert artists became the cornerstone of the Chopin Foundation's mission.
