A copy of a Moscow picture in the State Museums of Berlin.
Provenance: acquired by the architect Giannantonio Selva from the heirs of the antiquarian Gian Maria Sasso in 1803; assumed to have been sent to Russia by Quarenghi, via whom it could have passed into the collection of N.B.Yusupov; held in the Archangelskoye estate in the environs of Moscow; sent to the Moscow residence of the Yusupovs in 1831; transferred to St. Petersburg (the Yusupov palace on the Moika River) in 1837; held in the Yusupov palace-museum (Petrograd) in 1919-1924; in the Hermitage after 1925; in the Pushkin Museum since 1924.
