This snake has a terrifying colloquial name in Taiwan: Hundred-pace Snake, meaning once get bitten you may die in hundred steps while running away. It seems the most dangerous venomous snake in Taiwan. It is said that its toxicity is good to human health, over-harvest in the wild has caused its population severe decline to nearly extinction.
