On May 1, 1982, people who had been refugees from Vietnam marched in Hing Hay Park in Seattle's International District to protest Soviet involvement in Vietnam and El Salvador. The marchers carried signs and banners, and many also carried South Vietnamese flags. Here, holding a flag, 11-year-old Hien Le rests on a bench while the protestors march around the block.
