A design for a screen showing seven cranes on the waters edge, surrounded by pine trees. Motifs of cranes and pine trees symbolise longevity. This and 56.50.2 are detailed, reduced-size sketches recording the appearance of a pair of screens that the president of Mitsubishi commissioned Katei to produce for an exhibition in Kyoto in 1895. Sadly, the whereabouts of the completed screens is unknown.
