Friedrich Wilhelm Wanderer recorded various views of his ideas for the two "memorial rooms" on the first floor in watercolored drawings.
Wanderer drew on historical depictions to design the room's furniture in Early Renaissance style. He also used graphics by Dürer himself, especially the master engraving "Saint Jerome in His Study" of 1514 – even though we have no evidence as to whether Dürer actually portrayed objects from his own home in his works.
