Detail of a Dajehru pair. Crafted in Awadh in the early 19th century, the dajehru is studded with precious stones (including emeralds at the centre or kshana) and wrapped in little Basrah pearls. Its atehru is a cluster of pearl strings, and its gold att also contains tiny Basrah pearls.
