Many of the figures on these hoardings are based on those in ‘The Triumph of David’ by Nicholas Poussin, painted in 1628 and hanging round the corner in Dulwich Picture Gallery. Both Poussin and RUN have used body language to express emotion and movement. In Poussin’s painting they are fêting David for decapitating Goliath, in RUN’s they are marching happily towards Dulwich Picture Gallery.
