Joaquín Sorolla paintedin 1917 a portrait of Leonardo Torres Quevedo, in which appear two of his most important inventions: the Astra-Torres airship and the endless spindle of one of his arithmometers. In the Sorolla Museum, the outlines for preparing these inventions are preserved.
