The pulpit of the refectory of the convent of San Pietro in
Gessate, exhibited in Hall 14 of the Museum, the so-called Sala Verde, dates to
the end of the fifteenth century and is attributable to the workshop of
Benedetto Briosco. Above
the access door two dolphins hold a plaque with an abbot’s mitre. The pulpit
has a structure with lesenes and candelabra adorned with cornucopias and
dolphins, and the front has a central vase with two cherubs sitting on either
side on a supporting base depicting Christ and St. Peter.
