The banana-like aroid is a species found in the swamps of the islands of Madagascar, Mauritius, and Zanzibar. This plant has a robust pseudostem that looks like a banana, and is generally 1.5 to 2.5 meters high, but it can reach up to 4 meters. The species’ scientific name pays homage to the British botanist John Lindley.
