Sara Ramo seeks to unveil the elements and spaces ordered in situations of disarrangement of the expected normality. In "Fissura (from the Mapas series)", the hidden principle, nearly inexistent except for a slit in the wall, functions as a peephole viewer, or keyhole, to satisfy our curiosity of knowing what’s on the other side, the flipside of the space. It is a totally unimaginable interior scene, in which objects take on a central importance amongst a carefully arranged chaos. If on the outside the work is associated with the gallery aesthetic of the “white cube,” with an ideal of perfection, in its interior one perceives a new world of what is normally considered disorder and imperfection, contrary to the aesthetic ideal of the art space. What is revealed through the slit is the viscera of the space, thus resignifying the order and cleanliness of the outer room.
