Holi is a popular, traditional Hindu festival. In Odisha, it is celebrated as Dola Purnima, a festival devoted to Lord Jagannath. Idols of Lord Govinda and Goddess Sridevi are placed on the dola bedi and the palanquin is taken on a procession. The idols are then carried into the temple and devotees apply colours to them.
