"The brothers sent their father the long-sleeved tunic soiled with the blood of a goat and sent it to him with these words:
"We found it; find out whether or not it is your son's tunic”.
He recognized it and said, “It's my son's tunic! A ferocious beast devoured it. Joseph was torn to pieces".
Jacob tore his clothes, put a sackcloth around his hips and mourned his son for many days.
