Dhokra Craft in Jharkhand: Process

The mud moulds are further wrapped up in tar threads. The tar which acts like a wax, in thread form, is twisted in desired shape and required design. As per the process the layer of tar comes on top of the mud mould, on which the intricate design is etched with hands. The etching is done using a small metal piece which is like a blade.
