Diego Ribero (1529), a Portuguese cosmographer employed by Spain, created what is known as the Universal Chart in which is Contained all that Until now has been Discovered in the World (Carta universal en que se contiene todo lo que del mundo se ha descubierto fasta agora). In this map, Trinidad held a special place: it is the only ship identified by name, with a legend highlighting its feat of reaching 42º north in the Pacific.
