Digitizing Kazakhstan Musical Heritage

This 2008 project supported the preservation of an indigenous oral musical tradition and an extensive collection of 9,000 hours of audio recordings. Dating from the early 20th century, the magnetic tape and vinyl recordings are susceptible to physical deterioration and sound degradation.
