The dining room in the Malibu, California, home of writer Joan Didion and novelist John Gregory Dunne. The Federal era drop leaf dining room table that belonged to Dunne's great-grandmother is surrounded by Hitchcock chairs, with a peacock wicker chair at the head of the table. The strip of floral applique by the window was made by Didion's great-great-great-grandmother as part of a quilt. A large black and white landscape photograph hangs on the wall; the floor is terracotta Mexican tile; potted plants sit around the room.
