The dining room of the New York home of jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger. French doors open onto a back garden. Next to the door is an ivory-painted triangular etagere shelf holding a collection of porcelain plates decorated with playing cards from Berlin. A red-fringed black rug woven with a blue grid from Isfahan, Iran, covers much of the floor. The dining table, covered in blue and white calico decorated with a dotted grid, is surrounded by bamboo-framed chairs with woven wicker seats. The table is set with yellow-brown pottery plates.
