"[...] Dinâmica de carretéis (Spool Dynamics) and Caramujo (Snail) are mezzotints, a technical procedure which, in addition to in tensifying the darkness of surfaces, also generates a velvety effect. The process dates back to the mid-seventeenth century and requires enormous discipline and technical discipline. Iberê did not make use of this process in many engravings; its results, however, achieved through the exceptional diligence of his work process, highlight the mysterious climate of each one of these works.
