Dioptase

A brecciated siliceous matrix encrusted with a vuggy layer of calcite overgrown by well-formed dioptase crystals to 10 mm. Very minor amounts of duftite/conichalcite are associated with the calcite and the matrix material. Clement Latz Collection. Donated 1976.
