This is a dipper used to scoop up gruel and fodder for cattle. It is also called fodder dipper, and is a ladle-shaped dipper manufactured to scoop up gruel cooked in a large iron pot into the manger. Its usual form resembles an ordinary dipper. There is a short handle on the dipper to prevent the user’s hand from being scolded by the hot gruel. It is generally made of pine wood.
