This extremely beautiful disc stone from Mathura depicts a full blown lotus flower in the centre. The space available between the petals of this flower shows four animals seated in the intermediate directions, viz., a lion, an antelope, a bull and a stag. The outer band depicts four ‘honey-suckle’ motifs above four animals, with a palm (?) tree in the centre and in the four cardinal points, four female figures (one is completely lost), the first holding a bow in the left hand and a sheaf of arrows in the right hand; the second one facing right, standing with a bowl in her right hand and the left is in katyavalmbita pose, and the third is in seated posture, dressed in foreign costume, holding trident in the right hand and double sided thunderbolt in the left hand. This disc stone is important for the study of the icons because the female figures are holding the attributed of gods in their hands.
