Dish painted with hyacinths, rosettes, and stems springing from a common root. The palette is characteristic of the so-called Damascus ware with manganese-purple, sage-green, cobalt blue and turquoise colours. These are characteristic of the work produced around 1555-1570 and may be attributed to the circle of the ‘Master of the Hyacinths’. From Turkey, mid 16th c. D 36 cm (ΓΕ 5)
