Ken Virgin was a leading South Australian touring car driver of the 1950s and 1960s. This photograph was taken at the Fishermen's Bend track, a converted aerodrome that was used for motor sport from 1949 to 1959. The track was the site of one of the races that formed the Australian Drivers Championship, which was the premier open-top racing category in Australia until it concluded in 2014.
