Born in Kerala, Komu draws inspiration from humanism, gender issues and international politics. He is also known for delving and dabbling with complex issues such as death, dislocation and displacement. Contrasting these heavy subjects he has also extended his oeuvre to lighter subjects such as soccer in painting as well as installations.
In ‘Dog in the Bush’ Komu has treated the subject, the dog with extreme realism and a sardonic undertone.
