Doll:American Champions Serena Williams, Grand Slam Champion

Venus and Serena Williams, sisters from Los Angeles, have dominated international women's tennis since the late 1990s. Trained from a young age by their father, the two African American stars have each reached the No. 1 ranking in the world by the Women's Tennis Association multiple times, and each has won more than 20 Grand Slam titles. The Williams sisters have been credited with expanding the popularity of women's tennis competition in part because of the power and athleticism of their games and in part because of their prominence in a sport that has for so many generations been the dominated by Caucasians.
