"This doll belongs to the collection of Lola Anglada i Sarriera (Barcelona, 1896 – Tiana, 1984), draftswoman, painter, writer and dolls collector. For her, dolls were not only antique objects but testimonies of daily history of a disappeared world and at the same time idealized.
Dolls arrived to her through purchases, presents and donations. In this case, according to what she wrote in her book: “My dolls” (1983), she found her tied any old way, to a rag and bone man trolley, as a lure. She bought it and to compensate her for such a misfortune and because of the tenderness feelings that inspired her kind features, she dressed her as a great lady, with a luxurious dress fashionable at that time, in the middle of the XIX century."
