Quick Cural Casey appeared first in 1971. Mattel, Inc. treated Casey hair so that it could easily hold a curl set with the accompanying rollers. Mattel used the same wig technology on its Quicky Curl Barbie, also released in the early 1970s. The Quick Curl dolls acknowledge that hair play was an popular component of doll play in the mid-1970s.
