Doll:Shirley Temple Doll: Captain January

Ideal Toy Corporation began making Shirley Temple dolls in 1934. The corporation reproduced new dolls again in the 1950s and 1970s. In 1957 they switched from composition dolls to dolls of vinyl and were released in conjunction with with Shirley Temple's own new television series and the release of her motion picutres to television audiences. In 1982-83 Ideal released a 8" and 12" doll series of Shirley in various movie costumes. This doll reflects the 1982 release.
