After college, Isaac Larian started a company first importing consumer electronics and then, in 1987, began distributing handheld Nintendo games. Larian tired of earning his money as a distributor through his company Micro Games of America—he wanted to start something truly American. He changed his company name to MGA and began to make and sell toys. In 1997, the company’s first doll, a singing bouncy baby, sold a million units in its first year.
