Dominoes are an ancient Chinese invention, meant to represent the 21 possible throws of a pair of dice. The are used in the classic Chinese game Mah Jong but also for many popular games by themselves. A late 20th century domino set came packed in a retro metal tin, marked as "Classic Dominoes."
