Door from the Black Panther Party’s Chicago headquarters, located at 2350 W. Madison Ave. In an October 1969 raid, police used shotguns to blast through the steel door in an ambush that Panther leader Fred Hampton denounced as an attempt to “throw bad light on the party” during Bobby Seale’s trial for conspiracy. Six Panther Party members were arrested for attempted murder in the aftermath.
