Door knocker representing a Satyr

This large door clapper represents a smiling young satyr holding a snake by its neck and tail. In the lower part, the head of a ram closes the composition in the center of the handle grip, which is decorated with elegant scrollworks. The iconography is linked to the Mannerist period, during which subjects of this kind were widely depicted.
