Leeds Children's Day was an annual event which was first held in 1920 and led to the formation of Leeds Elementary Schools Sports Association and the camp of Ben Rhydding. The 1921 event was abandoned due to stormy weather and the following year there was a week's delay due to rain before the first Queen Elsie Oldfield was crowned on July 15th.
